Alertly.Net

Getting started

Quick start

Go from a new account to your first alert in about two minutes. Your dashboard Onboarding checklist walks through install agent, first server online, first monitor, and first notification channel.

1. Create your account

Sign up with your email address. You get a personal team, and a 14-day free trial of our most popular plan. No card is needed.

2. Add a server

Open Servers and choose Add server. Give it a name you'll recognise, like web-01, and optionally some tags such as production, then choose Continue. Alertly.Net shows an install command with the server's secret agent token. It's only shown once, so copy it now. You can generate a new one later in the server's Settings. The command looks like this:

curl -fsSL https://alertly.net/agent/install.sh | sudo bash -s -- --token=alr_your_token_here

3. Install the agent

Paste the command into a terminal on that server. The installer downloads the agent, verifies its checksum, creates a dedicated alertly system user and starts a systemd service. Within a minute the server page shows live charts.

The agent only sends numbers and names, never file contents, command lines or environment variables. See Security and privacy.

4. Turn on alert rules

Open Rules. The first time, the recommended rules (high CPU, high memory, disk filling up and disk almost full) are already ticked. Adjust the selection and choose Add selected. These rules cover all servers and notify all channels. You can fine-tune any rule later.

5. Choose where alerts go

Open Channels and add at least one: your email, a Slack channel or a Telegram chat, for example. Use Send test to check it works.

Until you add a channel, the team owner and admins get alerts by email so nothing is missed.

6. Optional extras
